[LOS ANGELES CLIPPERS] Business Operations Intern
The Los Angeles Clippers are currently recruiting for their 2025 Business Operations Interns. Interns will get to work in one of our full range of departments within Business Operations across Consumer Insights, Corporate Partnerships, Marketing, Retail Buying, or Sustainability. Over the 10-week summer program, interns will assist in executing department-specific projects and participate in various program elements, ranging from lunch and learns with our Executive Leadership team, preparing and delivering a capstone project as an intern cohort, and offsite events to expand their knowledge and network to the larger LA sports industry.
This is an internship program for rising undergraduate juniors and seniors that runs from June 9, 2025 to August 15, 2025. Interns are expected to work full-time (40 hours per week) for the duration of the program and will be based out of the Inglewood office at Intuit Dome. The team is currently operating on a hybrid schedule with Monday – Thursday in-office and remote on Fridays. Please note this may vary by department and change based on the event schedule and business needs. Due to the nature of our business, schedules must be flexible with occasional nights, weekends, and holidays.
DEPARTMENTS:
CONSUMER INSIGHTS
Our Consumer Insights team uses qualitative and quantitative research to help build stories and insights that drive action in a powerful and compelling way. Focusing on an ever-increasing understanding of our current and future fans, their wants and needs, and how to best create delight across the Clippers organization. Supporting not just the basketball aspect of the Clippers, but also Intuit Dome, generating research and insights to help inform about concerts and events.
As a Consumer Insights intern, you will work on brand health and fandom research that will drive a positive impact. You will collaborate with multiple groups within the Clippers and Intuit Dome business organization to help with a basketball season recap and insights about concerts and events throughout the offseason. You will also have the opportunity to assist with conducting research via surveys and in-person observations.
Your Background, Skills and Experience
Rising junior or rising senior pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Consumer Insights and Analytics, Consumer Behavior, Business Administration, Marketing Research, Psychology or a relevant field
Some experience or school projects in data insights and analytics
Interested in insights with solid analytic skills, with an understanding of both primary and secondary data sources
Knowledge of both qualitative and quantitative research methods & techniques
A creative, proactive thinker, with an agile and flexible working style
Not required but a bonus if you have experience writing, analyzing, and understanding surveys
CORPORATE PARTNERSHIPS
The Corporate Partnerships Department helps brands bring their objectives to life through Clippers' partnerships. They pitch new sponsorship deals and execute brand experiences and activations with our partners. At the Clippers, our Partnership team has three divisions, Sales, Strategy, and Activation. As a Partnership Strategy intern, you will work on partnership proposal deck creation, brainstorming and researching for sales prospecting, and CRM and tracker updates. You will research partnership activation best practices while collaborating cross-departmentally to plan and execute existing partnerships. You will also support the Partnership Marketing team on concert and show dates as needed.
Your Background, Skills and Experience
Rising junior or rising senior pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Sports Management, Business Analytics, Marketing or a relevant field
Experience in sports partnerships or relevant school projects (sports business, sports analytics, strategic brand management)
Passionate about the sports industry and brand sponsorships within sports
Proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint to create well-designed presentations
Proficient in Microsoft Excel to analyze data sets, identifying key insights and trends
Self-starter with strong attention to detail and a curious mindset, eager to learn throughout the internship
Team player who is willing to contribute across many different responsibilities
Strong time management, organizational, and communication skills
Not required but a bonus if proficient in Adobe Photoshop
MARKETING
Our Marketing team establishes our brand identity, seeks to build relationships with our target audience, and create events and other experiences in order to increase overall exposure for the LA Clippers. At our organization the Marketing department includes the following divisions: Brand Marketing, Growth and Digital Marketing, Broadcast, and Game Presentation. The Brand Marketing intern will assist with fan activation by planning, brainstorming, and researching successful fan strategies and promotional campaigns. While also providing support and executing off-season campaigns to build excitement for the upcoming season. Additionally, you will assist in crafting creative giveaway and theme night promotional strategies while researching ideas for youth and key audience marketing.

RETAIL BUYING
Our retail strategy is one of a kind in the NBA! Our Retail team has created our own in-house brand and styles unique to the Clippers franchise. This team manages all aspects of our retail ecosystem for our Flagship store, in-arena shops, and our ecommerce strategy. They are responsible for delivering retail initiatives and programs that drive revenue, grow fandom and build brand affinity in our community and around the globe. Our Retail Buying team handles all financial aspects of our retail and merchandise programs, including defining product assortment and sales strategies, analyzing inventory and sales by location, reporting, and maintaining positive relationships with vendors and the Clippers cross-functional team. As a Retail Buying intern, you will shadow our buyer and be involved with buying for categories and sub-categories and the metrics behind the decisions, product lifecycle, and data management using Microsoft Dynamics 365 Commerce and Excel.

Rising junior or rising senior pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Buying, Fashion Merchandising, Product Development, Business Administration, Economics or relevant field
Interest in retail, fashion, product/merchandising, current trends, and what customers are buying and why
Strong math skills and financial understanding
Strong skills and knowledge of how to use Microsoft Excel (add, subtract, percent change formulas, pivot tables, x/v lookups)
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make data-driven decisions
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with vendors, suppliers, partners, and internal departments
Demonstrated ability to communicate and positively interact in a diverse multi-cultural environment
SUSTAINABILITY
The Sustainability Department is responsible for developing and implementing innovative programs to reach Intuit Dome’s sustainability objectives across our five focus areas: transportation, energy, water, waste, and food. The Sustainability Team collaborates closely with the LA Clippers Front Office and Intuit Dome Arena Operations teams to work towards our sustainability objectives and to track and report on Scope 1, 2, & 3 greenhouse gas emissions.
As a Sustainability intern, you will help develop and implement sustainability trainings for part-time and full-time staff, support data collection and QA/QC for annual emissions reporting, and develop a database of local donation partners to support waste diversion efforts. Special tasks and projects will be assigned as needed to support the organization's sustainability objectives.
Your Background, Skills and Experience
Rising junior or rising senior pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Studies, Sustainability, or related field
Passion for sustainability, sports, entertainment, live events, and venue operations
Experience researching emerging sustainability practices and technologies and assessing their implementation feasibility
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and data management capabilities
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to develop effective presentations, training, and educational assets for diverse audiences with varying levels of sustainability knowledge
Ability to problem solve and work independently
Compensation
Interns will receive $20 per hour. Interns may receive academic credit through their school if needed.
Financial assistance for housing will be available for eligible interns. However, housing arrangements will need to be made independently. Details about eligibility for this assistance will be provided at the time of the offer.
We will cover participation in our onsite Team Member Lunch program offering meals Monday-Thursday.
