OVERVIEW
The New Orleans Pelicans Associate Program is a ten-month program that exposes entry-level candidates to the business side of sports. These intern level positions work across both the NFL and NBA seasons, and work full-time hours in various departments within our organization.
This temporary position is based in the New Orleans, LA area, and will run from June 9, 2025 – April 17, 2026.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Specific duties include, but are not limited to:
Prepare and distribute daily media clips regarding the Pelicans and the NBA
Monitor team coverage from local and national media
Assist with the compilation of the team’s written media publications (media guide, game notes, press releases, interview transcripts, postseason guide, etc.)
Maintain statistical records and assist with publication of media materials (media guide, game notes, press releases, postseason guide, etc.)
Assist with interview requests
Responsible for setup of media room and production of printed materials for media-related events
Assist with execution of communications plan at all basketball events (draft, press conferences, player appearances, etc.)
Compile credential requests and accommodate approved media with credentials for media-related events
Prepare and deliver media packets to the opponent’s team hotel
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college is preferred
Must live in or be willing to relocate to New Orleans for ten months
Possess an exceptional work ethic, a strong desire to succeed, and a professional demeanor
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
Must be able to operate in a fast paced, deadline oriented environment and maintain confidentiality
Must possess excellent organizational, written, verbal and listening skills
Must have solid knowledge of the NBA, statistics and basketball terminology in order to effectively perform duties
Must be able to react to change productively and handle other tasks as assigned
Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as dictated by games and the NBA schedule
