OVERVIEW

The New Orleans Pelicans Associate Program is a ten-month program that exposes entry-level candidates to the business side of sports. These intern level positions work across both the NFL and NBA seasons, and work full-time hours in various departments within our organization.

 This temporary position is based in the New Orleans, LA area, and will run from June 9, 2025 – April 17, 2026.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Specific duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Prepare and distribute daily media clips regarding the Pelicans and the NBA

  • Monitor team coverage from local and national media

  • Assist with the compilation of the team’s written media publications (media guide, game notes, press releases, interview transcripts, postseason guide, etc.)

  • Maintain statistical records and assist with publication of media materials (media guide, game notes, press releases, postseason guide, etc.)

  • Assist with interview requests

  • Responsible for setup of media room and production of printed materials for media-related events

  • Assist with execution of communications plan at all basketball events (draft, press conferences, player appearances, etc.)

  • Compile credential requests and accommodate approved media with credentials for media-related events

  • Prepare and deliver media packets to the opponent’s team hotel

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college is preferred

  • Must live in or be willing to relocate to New Orleans for ten months

  • Possess an exceptional work ethic, a strong desire to succeed, and a professional demeanor

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications

  • Must be able to operate in a fast paced, deadline oriented environment and maintain confidentiality

  • Must possess excellent organizational, written, verbal and listening skills

  • Must have solid knowledge of the NBA, statistics and basketball terminology in order to effectively perform duties

  • Must be able to react to change productively and handle other tasks as assigned

  • Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as dictated by games and the NBA schedule
